Photos (and route map):

Looking across to Mellbreak and Hen Comb from the track between Buttermere village and Buttermere Dubs.

Crummock Water seen across some of the many bluebells that cover most of the fellside along this part of the walk. With Low Fell in the distance and Mellbreak sloping down to the waters edge on the left. The little island is called Scale Island.

From a little further along the path this time looking across to Grasmoor.

Just past Scale Knott with Crummock Water and Buttermere in the valley.
High Snockrigg and Robinson are the fells on the left of the picture, leading across to Dale Head, Honister Crag, Fleetwith Pike, Grey Knotts and Brandreth.

Mellbreak summit.

Lorton Vale taken from just past the summit.

The lovely little valley of Mosedale. This is a very wet area indeed. There are good paths that follow the edge of the valley and these are usually quite dry, but once you try to take a short cut straight across you'll find it almost impossible to find a dry route.
The path I followed after descending from Hen Comb runs across the far end of the flat area.
The tree in the picture is marked on the OS map as Mosedale Holly Tree. I think it's the only "single" tree in the Lake District to be pointed out on the OS maps.

Mosedale Beck with Low Fell behind.
Taken from the place where I crossed the beck on my route between Mellbreak and Hen comb.

Hen Comb summit.

Also from Hen Comb summit, this time looking down to Loweswater and Lorton Vale.

Another beck to cross, this time at the other end of Mosedale.
The path I took out of Mosedale is the one on the right side of the gate.

Mosedale with Hen Comb sloping down from the left, Low Fell in the middle and Mellbreak's lower summit on the right.

Rannerdale Knotts behind Crummock Water. Taken a couple of minutes before I reached Scale Force Waterfalls.

Crummock Water with Low Fell and Fellbarrow in the distance.
