A colourful scene at Nichol End.
I had a low level walk today by doing a circuit of Derwent Water, although before I set off I was in two minds about doing a walk in this area on a Bank Holiday. As it turned out it was really quite, almost like walking midweek during school term.

Another spell of warm sunshine as we were walking along the path above the Grange to Portinscale road.
Skiddaw, Skiddaw Lesser Man, Lonscale Fell, Latrigg and Blencathra are behind.

As we were walking along the wooden walkway next to Great Bay another band of rain reached us. The most exposed section of the walk and the heaviest rain; I suppose it was a Bank Holiday after all.

Less than ten minutes later and it was back to warm sunshine and blue sky as we crossed the River Derwent, almost at the point that it enters Derwent Water. The Skiddaw fells are behind.
