Today was forecasted to be the last day of decent weather, so not wanting to miss it altogether, I had an evening walk up Cat Bells. I'm so please I came here instead of any of the other places I had in mind because surprisingly, I ended up having the place to myself. The only other person I saw was a lady setting off for a run just as I got back to the car. |

With hardly any height gained at all the views were already beginning to open up. |

What a great way to spend an evening, even though it was red hot waking up here. And as seen as though I'd stopped for a drink, I may as well sit down and take this picture looking across Derwent Water to Bleaberry Fell and High Seat. |

The final section of path leading to the summit appears to be much further than it actually is. With no one to stop and talk to other than myself (doesn't everyone do that), a steady plod took me to the summit in about 20 minutes from here. |

Lakeland at it's best. I'll bet there are more than just a few holiday makers who are pleased they chose this week to visit the Lake District. |

No matter how many times I walk along this path above Newands Valley I still enjoy it just as much as I did the first time I came here. |

All to soon I reached the road above Skelgill where it's now only a short walk back to the car. |

Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable 1hr & 40 minutes of peace and quiet, gorgeous views and summer weather. |
