Given the amount of rain we've had lately, I thought I'd take a look at Aira Force and also have a walk over Gowbarrow Fell while I was here. The waterfalls were putting on a good show indeed, and despite there being no people in this photo, the area around the the falls themselves was packed.

After a short walk up from the bottom of the falls I reached the bridge seen in the previous photo.

The section of Aira Beck between Aira Force and High Force looks more like something straight out of a South American rain forest than a beck in the Lake District. Needless to say where are certain places where I wouldn't want to stand too close to the edge.

Leaving the falls and the beck now, and heading onto the open fellside.
