Much to the dismay of a couple who parked up next to me, I wasn't walking up Latrigg today. We said hello, commented on the weather and then came the "are you going up Latrigg" question. When I told them "no" I was "going up High Rigg", I was politely informed that I was at the wrong car park and the quickest way to the top was from "the little church right at the bottom of the fell". They did offer to give me directions, but weren't impressed at all when I turned them down and said "it's OK I live near here". When I tried to explain to them that I didn't want the quickest route and you could still get to High Rigg from here even though it is "quite a long walk" the look on their faces told me I was an idiot.
Never mind, I'm sure they enjoyed their walk up Latrigg from the correct car park as much as I enjoyed my walk up High Rigg from the wrong one.

There was plenty of greenery along the Keswick railway path today.

A very dry looking River Greta.

Blencathra.

There were more people than stones today so I carried on walking along the road without taking a closer look.

Clough Head and the Dodds, taken as I begin the walk down to Naddle Bridge.

Blencathra seen from the field below Tewet Tarn.

Mmmmm, quite a few reasons not to walk along the normal side of the tarn.

Tewet Tarn.

Ponies in front of Grisedale Pike.

Heading down to St John's in the Vale Church.

Looking across St John's in the Vale to Clough Head.

I can understand why people do this, but to be honest it's just a bit too close to nature for my liking.

Low Rigg in front of the Skiddaw fells.

High Rigg summit.

Still at the summit and looking towards Thirlmere.

I knew there was a path through here but I wasn't sure how overgrown with bracken it would be. Thankfully it wasn't too bad today, although this will be a different story in a few weeks time.

Crossing the fields near Sikes Farm and looking back to High Rigg.

It was lovely walking up here today. What would have been nice was some sunshine to show off the carpet of buttercups.

Low Nest Farm.

, , , otherwise you'll fall off.

Talk about overgrown, , , and this bit wasn't as bad as some of it.
